2019 Trailer Editing Contest – You Choose the Winner!
Hello fellow editors!
It’s been a crazy year so far but we couldn’t let any more time go by without our annual trailer editing contest. As you know, each year students of The Art of Trailer Editing have the opportunity to submit their cuts to see who can create the best trailer using the footage, music and sound design provided with the course.
A big thank you to everyone who entered. This time, it was especially tough narrowing the field to only three. We saw a lot of awesome sound design work and really interesting takes on the story. Also, we were very happy to see a handful of students submitting revised cuts from previous years. The improvements were noticeable.
So, if you didn’t make it into the final round this time don’t get discouraged – JUST KEEP CUTTING. We may sound like a broken record but you WILL get better!
Here’s a quick recap of the judging criteria:
- Clear & engaging storytelling
- Effective use of sound design
- Compelling music selection & editing
- Level of editorial polish
- Overall emotional impact
And this year’s finalists are…
- Jeremy Pitard
- Marko Majo
- Alex Kenny

Watch each trailer below and select your favorite using the survey at the bottom. They are labeled A, B and C in no particular order as we want them to remain anonymous for fair judging.
