Hi fellow editors!

We’re so happy to be back this year with a new trailer editing contest and prizes for ALL finalists. Students of The Art of Trailer Editing have the opportunity to submit their cuts to see who can create the best trailer using what was provided with the course – although if you wanted to use some of your own graphics, music or SFX, that was ok too.

Additionally, a big thank you to everyone who entered. We got a record number of submissions this year with an exceptional amount of creativity and technical prowess. We DID have to give ourselves a little pat on the back for the quality of the cuts — the training must be working :)

Also, for all the editors who entered again from previous years, your determination did not go unnoticed. Editing well takes a lot of practice and your effort will have only served to make you that much better!

Here’s a quick recap of the judging criteria:

1. Clear & engaging storytelling
2. Effective use of sound design
3. Compelling music selection & editing
4. Level of editorial polish
5. Overall emotional impact

And most importantly, here are this year’s finalists in alphabetical order:
